Coyote from "Aesop and Son"

Why do we rarely get snow on Christmas, but lots in January and February?

As the title suggests, we got hit with more snow this week. And since we didn't get ANY for Christmas, it's too late to sing "Let it Snow," "Sleigh Ride" and "Winter Wonderland" and all those related songs. But I guess Linus Van Pelt didn't think so, in this February 1959 strip...

I guess Linus was listening to those little childrens' 78-RPM records, given this was 1959, and my "Mouse Tracks" book mentions children were still listening to 78s on their own record players as late as 1959.

And here's a cartoon I drew about this situation:

(because Santa could not use his sleigh for his Christmas Eve deliveries!)
